The glasses never come off, and neither does the tie. Regina stretches out face down on a grey studio bed in a cropped white shirt, a red plaid skirt pushed up over her hips and a schoolgirl tie hanging loose, then folds both legs up behind her and holds them there. Soles in The Pose, ankles crossed, for the next six and a half minutes.
She barely moves from the position, which is the point. Chin propped on her tattooed forearm, oversized frames catching the studio light, she watches the lens while her feet do everything worth watching at the top of the frame.
At EU 37, US 6.5 her feet are small enough that both fit neatly above the line of her hips, and the camera keeps them sharp against the soft grey bedding. She crosses one ankle over the other, lets them fall apart, points her toes at the ceiling and curls them back down, red polish flashing each time the soles tilt toward you.
The ink runs the length of her right arm and down one thigh, black lettering and portraits against pale skin, and it frames everything below the plaid. Regina shifts her weight from one hip to the other, arches her back a little more, and the skirt rides higher without her ever acknowledging it.
Studio clutter sits out of focus behind her, light stands and a stripped-back grey room, and that plainness works in her favour. Nothing in the shot competes with a pair of raised soles and a girl in glasses looking at you like she already knows what you are doing.
Standing 156 cm, 5 ft 1 in, Regina is the smallest model in this format, and the pose stacks all of her into one frame: shirt, skirt, ink and two bare soles at the top. Six minutes and fifty seconds in 4K. Watch the full video and see how long she can hold it.
