The heels earn their close-ups too. Thin wrap straps buckle high around each ankle, a double band holds the toes, and a thick glossy platform sits under a skyscraper stiletto. Up close you can see the oil gathering in drops where the strap meets her skin, and the lilac polish on her toes peeking out over the front band.

At EU 39, US 8.5, her feet fill those sandals completely, and when she lifts one to rest the sole of the shoe toward the lens, the arch inside it stretches hard against the straps. She lets it hang there, rocks it, sets it back down.
