Around the three minute mark she crosses her legs in the armchair and pushes a single foot straight at the lens, the gold chain swinging at her ankle, her face soft and smiling behind it. Then both soles come back to the table and press together, side by side, and this is the wrinkled soles section: every flex sends lines from heel to toes, and the two anklets frame the shot from the outside.

She holds poses for a long time. Soles stacked, soles side by side, soles in profile with the top foot slightly lifted, and a slow swap whenever the camera creeps closer. Between poses she talks a little, and at one point the lens drifts up to her face, copper hair against the green wall, blue eyes straight into the camera, before dropping back down to her feet.

The final stretch changes the angle completely. The camera moves above the table and looks down at the tops of her feet, red toenails glossy, toes spreading and wiggling, first on the leather seat of the armchair and then back on the table. It is the first time the red pedicure gets the whole frame, and she keeps it there until the end.
